Iowa Man Killed In Three Vehicle Crash In Parmer County

The Texas Department of Public Safety is reporting that 59-year-old Timothy James Holst of Rowley, Iowa was killed Wednesday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Parmer County. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2015 Ford Expedition driven by 30-year-old Shayanne Marie Clover of Garden City, Kansas was traveling east on State Highway 86. a 2019 Mack Truck towing a semi-trailer, driven by 501-year-old Jose Omar Cano of Olton was traveling southbound on State Highway 214 while a 2020 Freightliner also towing a semi-trailer driven by Mr. Holst was traveling northbound on State Highway 214. The driver of Ford Expedition failed to yield right of way at the stop intersection and struck the Mack Truck The impact caused Mr. Cano to cross over into the northbound lane, where it collided with 2020 Freightliner. After the impact the Cano's semi-trailer became detached and came to rest on top of the 2020 Freightliner. Mr. Holst was pronounced deceased at the scene, Ms. Clover and Mr. Cano were transported to the Parmer County Community Hospital in Friona with injuries. The crash remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
